My mother woke me up at around 8am. Why would she do that? It was a holiday. Then I remembered that we were going to East Coast Park for a picnic with my aunt. I quickly jumped out of bed and rushed to get prepared. I brought along an extra t-shirt, underwear, and swimming shorts just in case I feel that I want to go swimming.

After fetching our aunt , we proceeded to East Coast. We had a hard time finding a nice spot to set our mats as the beach was cramped up with people, especially Malays, camping at the beach with tents. As we passed by them, it seemed that we were at a Malay kampong. We finally managed to settle under a shady tree.

After getting settled, me, my siblings a.d my cousins got changed into our swimming attire and went for a dip in the sea. It was so salty and cold. We played a few games in the water and got really drenched. We eventually got bored and looked for something else to do. We then went to a rock formation near our place. There we found some fishing lines being casted. We had a look around . Soddenly there was a really bad stench, like a roting smell. Then we found out that there were two dead fish out lying in the open. They really smelt bad. Out of curiosity, we took some sharp sticks and started to poke it to see the innards of the fish. We could not as the scales were too tough to be cut open. Instead the innards started to come out of the anus. Upon seeing that, we stopped and threw the fish into the sea. It was too disgusting.

At around noon, we had some lunch of fried noodles, barbecued chicken and sausages which we barbecued there with some charcoal. The chicken was fantastic with the smoky taste of the barbecue. After some rest, we decided to go for another dip in the sea, which we got tired of eventually. Then I came up with an idea of digging a hole in the sand. My siblings and cousins agreed to it as we had nothing else to do. Using only plastic cups, bowls and our bar hands, we started to dig. We dug until ou hands were sore and our fingernails were dirty with sand. We managed to dig a hole so big it was as high as my stomach. All of us were tired and decided to clean ourselves.

As we proceeded to the toilets, we knew that the toilets were going to be full and dirty judging from the crowd. The toilets were as we expected. They were disgusting. We had to bathe in the open air toilets. And even its floor was covered with dirt and mud. I did not have a good shower just a quick one with some soap. As I changed, I found out that I still had some sand in my shorts. I just ignored it and changed. By the time I finished changing, it was already 5pm. Time flies so fast when I am having so much fun.

Everyone at the parade square was waiting for one thing, Principal's speech. When he spoke, there was a thunderous applause. It was just for one reason, a day off school! And we got it, and more. We got a day off, a day after Chinese new year, an early release on today and a late start to school on Monday. I think that made everyone happy.

During malay class, I found out that I was transfered to another class, Miss Marliana's class, away from my classmates. Why did I have to shift class. Then more bad news. More projects this time D&T. Damn projects. I do not know if I can finish in time.

Then school ended early and stuff like that happened.Oh and tried science project. Difficult.

Had a little trouble waking up today because Saturday and Sunday woke up late. Surprised during assembly because selected for the interviews. I never thought that I would be chosen at all. The briefing was slightly boring but luckily that Mr Siow was conducting the talk and added a some humour to the briefing. I did not know that that there was so much activity going on in the school that I was unaware of, mostly by the prefects. One of them was SPIRIT Victoria a programme to build the Victorian spirit in you. One message that I felt was inspiring was 'ACS owns Singapore, RI rules Singapore, VS LEADS SINGAPORE' by Mr Siow.

By the time me and Ezra went back to class, it was math lesson. Mr David Lee was going through the maths TFU project. I did not catch it ay first then I understood the assignment. Then I found out that Chanuja, classmate sitting in front of me, had thrashed my newspaper. I got pissed off and did not speak to him, but after recess I got over it. It was nothing to be angry about.

After recess, my class was waiting for our chem teacher, Miss Gloria Boey, to arrive but after 5 minutes she was still not in class. Then I realised that we were supposed to meet her in the chemistry lab. We rushed over to the lab. When we got there we got some scolding because 15 minutes late. Then got some presentation lab stuff, and a test. It was ok but the stupid thing was that there was a question that stated 'Did you enjoy the test'. Come on, no one likes tests! Then there was an announcement that school will end at 1.45, which was followed by a thundrous applause.

I waited for the end of school during mother tongue and geography which seemed endless, but finally school ended and off home. I wanted to wait for the results of the 'O' levels but it was too long to wait. Then at home I found out the top scirer was a chinese from CHIJ but I did not know from which branch. Sadly it was not a VS boy.

Sunday

Today was somewhat like the previous day, only the morning part. Breakfast, homework then lunch which was fried rice. The homework was my geography then I began to type out my first blog entry which took me about an hour to complete. The geography assignment was difficult as I had to research on why some places are more densely populated than others. Very difficult.

However, I did manage to complete it and my family and I decided to go one The quest in search for my 'long lost' comic books. We decided to look for it at Bugis Junction, where there was another bookshop. We did not have so much trouble finding a parking space as yesterday as there was a multistory car park nearby, Raffles Hospital.

Upon reaching the mall, we straight away went to the bookshop. There was not such a great variety but I did not give up searching. However, it was not there. I was beginning to think that I was not my lucky day until I found another shop that was filled with comic books, comic t-shirts and figurines. I was so fascinated by the number of comic books they had and it had the greatest variety I have ever seen! I had high hopes on locating it and finally, there it was, on the shelf just waiting for me to purchase was the comic books I wanted. I straight away grabbed it and rushed over to the cashier and paid $45. Finally, I founded what I was looking for.

As promised, I and my sister was to spend my family dessert at Swensens as we received the edusave bursary and wanted to share the joy with my whole family. We finally settled on a 'giant earthquake', an ice-cream fit for my family with different flavours of our choice. My favourite was old-fashioned vanilla, a little different from the normal vanilla. At the end of it me and my family were all contented with the dessert

After that, we were all tired and went home. It was on the journey home that I remembered that I had a science test the next day. As soon as I finished bathing, I started revising, which took me about an hour till about 8, just in time for dinner. I had about an hour of free time for myself, but I felt like it was only a few minutes. The weekend ended so fast and it was time for school again. So fast.....

My first official post
Saturday, January 10, 2009

I woke up and wondered why the room was brightly lit. For a moment I thought that I was late for school! Then I remembered that it was a Saturday. Finally the weekends have arrived.

I jumped out of bed and did my normal things, bathing, cleaned my room, had breakfast and stuff like that. The first thing that came to my mind on what to do was to start playing my 'PSP', a kind of electronic game. Then it came to my mind that I had homework to do. I do not want to 'snowball' all my work till the last minute and mindlessly complete my homework. So I started to complete one of my tasks given to me. It took me just 30 minutes to complete it.

After a delicious lunch of spaghetti and some television, My family and I got dressed to go out for a little shopping. I decide that I would spend some of my edusave bursary money on a few comic books so we decide to head for Wheelock Place, where there is a bookshop.

Getting a car park was not so easy. There were a lot of people waiting for a car park and so few were exiting, and some were sleeping in their cars. Eventually we managed to find a spot. Like the car park, the bookshop was just as crowded, mostly with teenagers. Me and my family went our separate ways, trying to locate our own books. I directly went in search for my comic books. The comic books section had only two shelves, but I still had high hopes for locating my books. I searched high and low for it, only to find one that I was looking for, and it was not in a good condition. So I came out empty handed while the rest of my family members found what they were looking for. Still I had one more thing to look forward to, dinner with my cousin and his wife.

We chose to eat at 'Lau Pa Sat' a hawker centre where the satay is fantastic. We met around seven thirty . We did not have hard time ordering the food as we came there just for the satay, and a few other side dishes as well. I had chicken satay and a bandung drink. We ate ad talked till about eight thirty. Then we went our separate ways.

Even though it was not the best start to the weekend, I enjoyed it as much as any other weekend as I get to spend it with my family.
